After attending the American Coatings Show 2026, one impression stayed with me more than anything else: the strength of the American specialty chemical industry is built not only by large corporations, but also by the thousands of chemists, scientists, laboratory teams, formulation specialists, and small specialty manufacturers working every day to develop better materials, coatings, formulations, and technologies.

A Deeper Appreciation for the Industry

What impressed me most was the openness, professionalism, technical depth, and innovative spirit throughout the industry.

The conversations I had with scientists, engineers, formulators, and small business owners gave me a much deeper appreciation for the people driving industrial innovation behind the scenes. Much of this work does not always receive public attention, but it is essential to the coatings, materials, manufacturing, and specialty chemical sectors.

As someone relatively new to this industry here in Jersey City, New Jersey, I have been thinking seriously about how local suppliers can better support both the scientific community and the many small businesses that are essential to this ecosystem.

The Supply Challenges Facing Smaller Teams

Over the past few years, supply chain disruptions, geopolitical uncertainty, pricing volatility, and long international procurement cycles have created increasing pressure across the industry.

For larger corporations, these challenges are difficult but often manageable. For laboratories, development teams, pilot projects, and smaller manufacturers, they can be much more disruptive.

Many teams still need faster access to reliable materials, flexible packaging options, and responsive local support without being forced into large-volume commitments or long procurement timelines.

How Carmel Solvents Supply Aims to Help

At Carmel Solvents Supply LLC, we are working to support this industry through two practical service models:

Local NJ/NY Inventory Wholesale Supply

We are building local inventory support for industrial and specialty solvents, along with related raw materials, to help customers reduce lead times and improve supply reliability.

For businesses in New Jersey, New York, and the surrounding region, local stock can make a meaningful difference when production timelines, laboratory work, or formulation schedules cannot wait on extended procurement cycles.

Small-Package Support for Labs and Pilot Projects

Not every customer needs a drum, tote, or container-volume order.

That is why we are also focused on small-package support services, including 5-gallon pails and 48-hour regional DDP delivery for laboratories, pilot projects, formulation work, and small-scale production environments.

This model is designed for teams that need practical quantities, clean documentation, responsive communication, and local delivery support.

Supporting the People Doing the Work

Our goal is simple:

To provide more practical, responsive, and locally supported supply solutions for the scientists, laboratories, and small businesses helping drive innovation across the American specialty chemical industry.

We know that better supply support does not replace technical expertise. It supports it. When materials are easier to access, documentation is easier to request, and delivery is more predictable, technical teams can spend more time doing the work that matters.

Continuing the Conversation

I am still learning every day, and I sincerely appreciate the conversations, insights, and encouragement I have received from professionals across the industry.

The American specialty chemical industry is built by people with deep knowledge, practical experience, and a strong commitment to solving real technical problems.

We look forward to continuing those conversations and finding more ways to support the people behind specialty chemicals.
